Eve Lumerto

(1993)

I’m an author from Finland. My debut novel Unitytöt (“Dream Girls”) was published in 2021 by Nysalor. My niche is character-driven speculative fiction with fantasy and/or fairy tale elements. I am more interested in the “who” and “why” than I am in the “what” and “where”. Queer characters and neurodiverse characters are close to my heart. Some of the best moments in writing are when a new character takes over your head, and all you can do is sit back and write, or when different kinds of people are brought together by writing. My other passions include ballet and drawing comics. I have a master’s degree in theology, and a background in music, which influences my writing a lot.

Unitytöt (Dream Girls) by Eve Lumerto

Published by Nysalor, 2021

Venna is a creature who lives from music. One day she has to leave the wind chime she’s living in, and move into the head of a human. Soon she meets Aiju, a peculiar girl who can sense her, unlike other humans.

Aiju is on her way to the temple of Levojelaja, to study herbs and magic. Venna and Aiju start their new life together, but relationships might prove to be a challenge for both of them.

Unitytöt is an intriguing fantasy, and a love story that takes a deep dive into dreams and the subconscious. It is also a story about friendship, high sensitivity and finding oneself, as well as the challenges and boundlessness of love.
